Product Review Types

TestFreaks handles three distinct types of product reviews: expert reviews, user reviews, and customer reviews.

Depending on your setup, not all types may be available.

Overview of Review Types

The three types of reviews differ in their source and the perspective they provide:

  • Expert Reviews: Written by professional reviewers
  • User Reviews: Written by general consumers and collected from external sources
  • Customer Reviews: Written by your own customers

Expert Reviews

Expert reviews are written by professionals who know a lot about specific types of products, like cameras or phones.

These reviews look closely at how the product works and what features it has. They often compare it to other similar products.

Experts use their knowledge to point out what’s good and what’s not so good about the product.

User Reviews

User reviews are written by everyday people who use the product. These reviews come from other sources than your own customers.

User reviews often talk about things that matter to most people who use the product.

Customer Reviews

Customer reviews are written by people who ordered the product from you.

They tell you what your own customers think about the product. This helps you understand if your customers like what they bought and can show you what your customers care about most.

External Reviews

Expert reviews and User reviews are called “External reviews” because they come from outside of your own customers

Customer reviews, in contrast, come directly from your own customers.
